It has been reported that Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are no longer speaking after she allegedly brought him home from a Labor Day trip to Toronto with a $6,000 bill.
TMZ has received details about the alleged incident, stating that McDermott was tardy for a flight and caused the couple’s $6,000 bill to pile up. Spelling is said to have met up with a friend, who was also a passenger on the flight, to clear out their luggage. At the time, McDermott was reportedly using their hotel bill as a security blanket for their relationship.
Further, the source said that McDermott came home and started arguing with his wife and allegedly began unplugging items in the house. A loud argument is said to have gone on, which McDermott took up a stand.
Apparently, Spelling has gone into debt twice before over the months, once paying $10,000 off her credit card bills, and had dealt with it before as a small financial strain. However, she is said to be becoming increasingly distraught over her inability to pay this particular bill. It is also claimed that after she returned from Toronto, Spelling went on a buying spree, borrowing over $100,000 from various friends and family members to pay for their day at LAX airport. This is believed to have included car rental and bank withdraws.
Spelling is also said to have been experiencing difficulties with her finances due to the stress from her recent plastic surgery procedures, as she had undergone breast implants and the removal of several bags of breast tissue.
Last month, a report was filed with the Beverly Hills police alleging that McDermott had been physically abusive to Spelling over the years. McDermott and Spelling have two children together – Liam, nine, and Stella, eight – and both were married once before before they met in 2009.
In an interview earlier this month with KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, Spelling was asked about the incident and said she had been in “lockdown” following the news. She said: “I am pretty good [at dealing with stress],” adding, “It doesn’t mean I don’t have days when I am overwhelmed.”
She also claimed that they had decided to hire a therapist to help them deal with the situation. Spelling added: “As a wife, as a mother of two little boys, I want to be a champion for [our marriage] and I want to fight through this.”
The couple have been hit with bankruptcy claims over their Beverly Hills mansion, Spelling having complained that her former business partner, Stephanie Judge, was responsible for taking out fraudulent loans to pay for the mortgages and upkeep of the property.
